Hello Diana
Great to hear from you.
I'm doing well and there is a definite improvement in my voice.
I'm doing a bit of practice each day, sometimes get impatient
but from working with you, I know it is attainable, It'll be
good to speak to you in a couple of weeks and see what you
think. I'm very glad I bit the bullet and made the investment.
Your blog made me smile and made me think how the British are
more reserved and seem only willing to expose themselves when
they feel safe. Funny lot aren't we?
Love, Geraldine

To Diana,
Nice to hear everything is going well with the studio! I hope
everything is great with your family!! I cant deny that you put
me on my way; to be able to sing for hours until I just become
too tired! Something I never thought possible however believed
if others can do it so can I. It took still a couple more years
after seeing you to figure it out to for me I feel as you once
said becoming invincible! Well, I feel like that now with my
voice...cant believe it. I told you before I was getting fewer
sore throat infections with viruses like colds and Flu...to now
in the past couple of years a sore throat is something of the
past, which I believe should be also marketed as a benefit...I
truly believe people who get sore throats are stuck in their
throat constantly putting them under stress and the first
exposure of a virus susceptible to infection. I am currently
battling a cold but have ZERO throat symptoms to pre-Vocal
Science I was the sore throat KING which you so eloquently said
I was stuck in my throat! Amazing! Thank you!!!!
I don't know if I would say it took 10 hours...LOL..maybe for
some I guess....it is truly like learning how to walk all over
again....I guess I feel like, now that I understand more the
entire connection.....Amazing how the connection works...of all the
moving parts, face, positioning and most important is the
diaphragm control...wow that was a very difficult thing to bring
in.
Interesting, now that I speak sing just behind my teeth
maintaining a constant diaphragmatic pressure..which is now the
honing of the technique to master the pressure...like any wind
instrument. Anyway...I do want to acknowledge that if it were
not for you I would have been going down the wrong path and I
will always give credit where credit is due. Thank you.
Thanks again Diana...you were the spark! No matter how crazy
you are..LOL.
xo

Hi Diana,
Thanks for getting back to me. The 9 year old
does have singing and performing experience. As far as Shy-Anne
goes I will pass on the information and your concerns. I do
believe she could gain a lot from your teachings and your
experience as she is a wonderful performer that needs to be fine
tuned, which I believe you would be able to do with her. However
I would like you to meet her outside of the workshop environment
as I think you two could do wonderful things together.
As far as her students go, they are all
accomplished singers in their own right yet many lack the
confidence because they have not been taught how to properly
structure their breath, their tone and their bodies to produce
the sound that you taught me to make. I feel everyone would gain
from spending a couple of days with you and at the very least,
you would give them some good insight, some valuable lessons and
give them an accurate assessment of where they are at now and
where they are going.
Truthfully they are all wonderful singers yet you
used to always point out to me about not standing straight, not
supporting my sound, not breathing correctly and many other
things. I have listened to them sing and hear amazing potential
in them yet I also see and hear the mistakes I used to make in
all of them even Shy-Anne. That is a big part of why I invited
these particular people to attend the workshop. I believe in you
and your teaching methods and though I have explored other
methods for voice training, I still comes back to what you
taught me and I get stronger and more confident as I practice
that way more...also I believe there are several people you can
definitely work with professionally within a short time should
you choose to do so.
I believe in you, I believe in them and I believe
it will be a good fit for everyone.
Talk to you soon.
James

Diana,
I felt compelled to send you an email to touch base, as we
haven't communicated in quite
some time. I trust that you've been well, busy and of course
successful.
Life for me has taken some major twists and turns within the
past year resulting in huge
changes; both on a personal and musical level. I want to firstly
apologize for
disappearing off the radars. It wasn't my intention to "vanish"
as I had nothing but
amazing experiences working with you (vocally and
psychologically). The reason that you
haven't heard from me has to do with major musical,
career-oriented and familial issues
that had come up in my life. As you probably recall, I was the
singer of my band,
Courtesy Blush - working through Matt Dematteo and Dave Markham
to achieve a common
goal... Courtesy Blush is no longer together.
I always wanted to write you and
tell you a few things - Firstly Diana, you deserve the
recognition and to realize what an incredible support you were
to me during a very
difficult point in my life and development. I always wanted you
to know that and take
credit for it and it needed to be said so THANK YOU! You did not
deserve my
"disappearance" so I apologize if you were ever wondering or
perhaps concerned.
Your method of coaching me has stuck in my mind like super glue.
Although I may need to
start from scratch, (seeing as how it has been so long!)
subconsciously I catch myself
breathing different and approaching words/syllables differently.
I also have not stopped
bragging about your instruction to people I meet who are
involved in the industry.
It would be great to meet up with
you sometime to catch up in person for a coffee.
I hope you are great and I look forward to keeping in touch.
Best regards,
Jonathan Arden

Diana Yampolsky is
hands down the best vocal coach I have ever had. Her
vocal technique is like none other. I have had various vocal
coaches around
the globe and none have offered a technique that makes you sound
100% better
without creating any wear and tear on your vocal chords. I
believe if more
singers and anyone in a field where they primarily use their
voice were to
utilize this technique ENT doctors would go out of business!
Thank you Diana
for your patience and for passing on your wonderful gift of
happy healthy
vocals. Your lessons are absolutely priceless!
Cindy Gomez.
Dear Friends and Supporters,
First off I would like to thank you so very much for being so
wonderful
throughout the years. The road of an artist is not the easiest
one....but
its one heck of an adventure and I've had plenty :) This past
year I have
been performing quite some bit throughout Asia and this May I
appeared on
the cover of FHM Singapore's Music Edition as well as a 6 page
spread. I
have also gone to Cannes to perform during the Film Festival and
I am also
in Issue #4 of Prestige Magazine France. I would like to keep
sharing with
you all my wild adventures and so I invite you all to check out
my new
website
http://www.cindygomez.com/and to add me on my Facebook fan
page
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cindy-Gomez/6232424003 where I
am posting all my
latest information.
I am currently working on a new album titled THE SOUND OF
FREEDOM where the
theme of the album is Freedom in every sense of the word
(freedom of speech,
emotions, the illusion of life...) mainly based on personal
events but also
very relevant to what is happening with the world today. I
trust I will
have it ready to release by the end of the year and hope that
you will enjoy
it.
Sending you many blessings, light and love,

Dear Diana,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you very much for the
VocalScience Group Music Workshop I attended with you this past
weekend. I appreciated the chance to focus on expressing myself
through music with a group of easygoing fabulous participants,
who all were there to elevate their expression through song. I
have attended these workshops over 3 years and each time, I
notice that I gain a mental clarity, a sense of ease with myself
and recovery of my sense of humor, which life sometimes puts to
the test! This in addition to regaining a clear voice where I
can sing proudly without harming my throat.
Diana, thank you for realigning
my molecules in 2 afternoons! With thanks and gratitude.

I am now a professional member of
the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers and with this,
new doors will open, as well as training and networking
opportunities. Hope all is well with you and that your success
continues to grow. I am so happy that I found you on the
internet over 15 years ago. By taking your vocal training, it
raised my confidence and skill set in singing and speaking! Not
only that, I've found new friends, you & Chris. You never know
where this next year may go, but I am feeling intuitively, that
it will be up, up, up. You will always be recognized as being my
lead vocal coach and hopefully I can send you some speaking
clients through the association, who want to step up their
performance.
Blessings and hello to Chris,

Matthew Quek - Artist and former student from Singapore
(comment on American Idol Part II Blog;

I agree wholeheartedly with you
Diana! The emphasis on entertainment is not so much on
quality of voice and skills now. It is all about sensuality
and packaging more than music. That is the way it is here in
my country as well, which is why artistes like me who really
want to take singing seriously are very frustrated because
the media, which of course only concentrates on dollars and
cents, ignore artistes like us. I feel like I can never
progress here as an artiste and never get anywhere. Wish I
could learn from you again soon.
Hi Diana
I see that my "before-after" video is still on your website
and I am honored that I was able to learn so much from you
within ten hours (two days) to be exact when I last saw you
years ago.
I still remember your generous offer to train me and to mold
me as an artiste in Canada but truth be told, even since I
have gotten married two years ago, the financial burden of
being the breadwinner has reigned in heavily on me.
Having been a school teacher for eight over years, and now
at the age of 34, I feel that the dream for me to be a vocal
artiste is fading fast.
I am still trying my best to apply your technique, given the
lack of supervision. I still wish that I could have lessons
with you through SKYPE but we both know that you do not use
such a mode of teaching.
Even if I were to go back now, your fees would have risen a
lot since then and after I finish my lessons with you. I
will be left without supervision again.
My point is that if I could have lessons with you from time
to time online, at least I can maintain the technique you
have taught me. As it is I am trying hard to recapture the
moment where I made the breakthrough and it has not been
easy. This must be the case for your overseas students as
well. Even the best vocal artistes need constant maintenance
and without it, they falter. So if Royans is to expand its
horizons overseas and over the long term , there must be a
plan to constantly keep in touch with Royans "Alumni" like
me. If we could be your emissaries to bring your technique
under your endorsement overseas, then your technique will
truly expand and stand as stark contrast in order to correct
the erroneous teaching out there where proper diaphragmatic
support and use of the MASK (facial muscles) are simply
ignored because they wish to take short cuts. Royans MUST
make such a move to and use overseas alumni like me to
prevent the propagation of such erroneous teaching
techniques. In essence, your technique, which
really utilizes the MASK (facial muscles) singing with
support is the ONLY WAY to go. So why not spread the gospel
of vocal pedagogy through people like me?
Hope to hear from you soon Diana. Thanks!
Matthew Quek

Austen Renaud - Lead Singer
of The
Brilliancy - December 2010
Hey Diana,
I've been so busy this past year
(as I'm sure you have been too) that I haven't had time to send
you an email about what I've been up to. We (The Brilliancy)
are currently finishing up four very well thought out songs with
our producer, and are still busy writing new songs in order to
truly impress the music industry when it is finally time to be
released. We also decided to record a Christmas song this year
with some spare time that we've had. I thought you might enjoy
to here it and that is why I have attached it in this email. I
still practice and think about your techniques every day and
even though I have not yet fully mastered them, I have not felt
ANY pain from singing in over a year. Being able to sing
without straining my voice is something that I owe all to you
and I am grateful every time I open my mouth. P.S. I have even
started to use your technique when I cough or sneeze and haven't
felt any strain in doing those things ever since!
Hope you enjoy the song !
Thanks again,
Austen

Lacerda - July 2010
Hey Diana!
Here we are on the road and things are going exceptionally well!
We have been selling a great deal of CDs traveling around the
country. People are loving it. We sell on average about 150 to
200 CDs a day.
We have also started doing small acoustic sets on the tour that
have been going amazingly! Thanks to you my voice is holding up
and sounding great. I don't get much sleep and don't get to eat
very well but even still my voice is holding up!
There are several record labels and managers on this tour and
they have taken a keen interest in us. Particularly one label.
They have instructed me not to share any information just yet,
but they are following us heavily! So stay tuned for some
exciting news. I will be in touch with you and you will be the
first to know.
I miss you and am above and beyond grateful to you.

Accelerated "Vocal
Science(TM)" Course - Toronto
You nailed it, Diana!
It's obvious that people
requiring quick online or recorded voice fixing devices have
no clue what they're talking about in the first place. One
thing to add to this blog: you actually treat your student
as a person, not only as a musical instrument, and any
emotional problem that puts stress on the vocal chords and
tires the body...you can sense that before anyone else, even
the student himself/herself. That's rare, and extremely
important!
Compliments,
Rucsandra

Hi Diana:
My name is James Wilkinson, I was a student of yours in 1990
when you were on Caledonia. I just wanted to say hello and
that I am still singing and now I have branched out to
becoming a musician as well. I just wanted to say that the
brief time we spent together left a lasting impression. I
still remember the basic structure for singing you taught me
and it still works.
I have some music up on YouTube

Glad you are doing well. It makes my heart happy.
Take care
It was nice to see you are doing well.

Hi, Diana
I'm doing well. Not performing live anymore, since I married
and moved down to New Hampshire,
USA, four years ago from
Toronto. Crazy, crazy story! But, I still sing! I've not
ruled out joining a band, or starting my own here in the US.
I had no lofty aspirations, nor dreams of rock stardom...
You simply brought out the best in me, and helped me fulfill
a lifelong dream.
I wanted to thank you, stay in touch, and spread the word
about your teachings and methods.
Best wishes,
Julio Razquin

I'm so excited to tell you
that the vocal excercises and herbs have transformed
my life! I am now able to sing the entire day at
church, and my voice doesn't hurt aftward! I don't
even wake up with a raspy voice anymore! I must say that
you are one the world's best kept secrets--we've got to
get the word out! You are definitely
unconventionally correct!
Thanks for everything!
